Android terdaftar sebagai smartphone dengan angka penjualan terbaik pada kuartal 2010 tercatat lebih dari 200 juta perangkat Android berhasil dijual. Dengan banyaknya developer independen membuat teknologi Android OS berkembang dengan pesat. Dalam empat tahun terakhir (rilis tahun 2008) Android berhasil merilis versi terbaru mulai dari : Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb dan yang terbaru Ice Cream Sandwich. Smartphone yang menggunakan Android OS adalah Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Galaxy Nexus dan lain sebagainya.
